F&A magazine is created by a collaboration of people aiming to cover contemporary culture in a broad sense. And, even though the first issue suffers from absence, it doesn't decrease my admiration for this online magazine. It fits, like denim straight from the washing-machine. A little bit extraneous, but like a second skin. The online concept is also magical, no compulsory commercial advertisements, but a strong inner character. Fashion & Art, completely as it states, finds a balance between humorous 'art', solemn photography and playful fashion. It is a lovely way of fulfilling the once-in-a-while black whole of inspiration - not with direct satisfaction, but on the long terms. The current issue is way back from March 2011. Without trying to speak for the mass, I beg F&A to help the people out here. Please, please create something nice for 2012. This second copy is about the meaning of Trash. How about the photo with the crushed plastic cups as wallpaper? More sustainable is the porcelain version of these.
F&A magazine is opgezet door een zooitje mensen met als doel verslag te doen van de wereld van hedendaagse cultuur. De eerste editie is helaas niet (meer) clickable, of mijn laptop is niet capabel genoeg om Genesis, het begin van de aardknal, te tonen. Gelukkig is daar Trash, met kapotgestampte bekertjes, anti-kraakpanden en dode duiven. Dit alles wordt ons voorgespiegeld als kunst, en wij geloven dat. Ondanks de technische gebreken stijgt F&A constant in mijn aanzien. Het tijdschrift leest als een goeie jeans, net uit de wasmachine. Wat onwennig maar als een tweede huid. De kapitalen staan voor Fashion en Art, en dat wordt ruimschoots goedgemaakt in een stuk of vijftig online pagina's. Scherpe, humorvolle kunst, simpele, stemmige fotografie en een hele hoop mode. F&A is perfect om het eens-in-de-zoveel-tijd-terugkomende zwarte gat van inspiratie mee te vullen. Helaas is het actuele issue niet zo heel actueel meer, het stamt van maart dit jaar. Tijd om wat druk achter de organisatie te zetten om binnenkort weer te kunnen genieten van heel veel oogstrelend moois.
