EDITORIAL | Serum Versus Venom

Retoucheren in Photoshop?

I'll always have a soft spot for scissors and glue. Not just glue, no, a sticky, cheap version of the well-knowned gluestick, so that everything I'll touch will stick on the top of my fingers. I admire artists that won't long for the digital version of a pencil and a paper, but literally stick to their old behaviors and start sticking and cutting. In that perspective, it is quite predictable that I instantly fell in love with artist Victor Antonio and Serum Versus Venom founder/photographer David Gensler. They make the kind of art I would make myself, if I would be less busy with putting energy in all other things I like. That is why this editorial is not only an editorial, but an huge inspiration to me as well. The ugly cut of lines, the childish handwriting, the simplistic naked women sticked on top of the mens faces, it is so distracting. It is as Andy Warhol says, 'art is what you can get away with'.
