DELICATE | Valentine with A. Wang

I just found this sexy sport bra, made by my current hero Alexander Wang. Nowhere to find in the online stores, because this piece of delicateness is aged (2009). Like elderly are aged. Staring from behind the curtains, sipping from a cup of lukewarm tea. But, as crinkled granddaddies and -mommies are my favourite generation, I want to give them love. Especially with Valentine's Day ahead. So, A. Wang bra, where are you and your walker? The triplet underneath is from Rituel by Carine Gilsen. Like a younger sister...

Al vind ik Valentijnsdag voornamelijk commerciële rotzooi, precies een week voor 14 februari drijft mijn liefde voor deze beha weer boven. Tussen een hele hoop oude plaatjes in mijn digitale archief vond ik dit plaatje van Alexander Wang, al weer uit 2009, maar altijd tijdloos. De onderste drieling is van de hand van Rituel by Carine Gilson. Voor alle lingerie-hunters met een klein budget: bij de nieuwe JAN zit een coupon voor 20% korting op al het H&M underwear. En het interview met Lauren Verster is ook een vermelding waard!

INTERIOR | Alexandre Herchcovitch

Meet fashion designer Alexandre Herchcovitch from Sao Paulo, Brazil. I am still in doubt if I like his interior or not. The vintage appearance is interesting, just as the ripped walls are. The Golden M from fastfoodmagnet McDonalds is brilliant. I once saw Ronald -clown- McDonald standing on a balcony along the railway. Probably stolen, so I don't want to know how Alexandre got his yellow souvenir. He might used a strong monkey to climb the pole. Edit: Or he visited the vintage store next door. Whatsoever, his interior can compete with a vintage museum. My home will never look like this, but it is great for mix-and-match, bric-a-brac inspiration! I saw this crinkled shirt the other day at one of my favourite eclectic blogs, stylorectic. It is a white shirt with a twist, made by the polish label UEG, made of the special material tyvek. I would dress things a bit down with a pair of dark blue cigarette pants, a 3.1 Philip Lim bag, Gucci zebra-print calfhair pumps and Tom Binns' fresh neon pop-out jewellery.

INSPIRATION | Currently

My Tumblr looks all grumpy, probably because of the winter weather here. How daring is the dipped-white hair from the girl in the middle? Reminds me of the time I liked horses (a standard period in every girls' life). It took in and about two weeks, but the przewalski's horse was my all-time favourite. Just a random brain twirl!

T by Alexander Wang | Featuring Die Antwoord
Alexander Wang chose the innovative rap/rave duo Die Antwoord for his new T by A. Wang collection. Even though I am not their biggest fans, the artwork in this video is amazing. Simple, but effective. Die Antwoord sticks to its roots, with single Fatty Boom Boom from their newest album Ten$ion. I only understand a quarter of all lyrics, but the collaboration is absolutely unique.

Hiphop/rave-helden Die Antwoord schitteren in de shortfilm van Alexander Wang's nieuwste collectie. Ik kan nog net ontwaren dat deze single 'Fatty Boom Boom' heet, wat mij betreft rapt Die Antwoord in het Oelantoeknees, ik versta beide niet. Het artwork daarentegen is briljant, simpel maar door de drukke bewegingen en het contrast tussen kleur en zwartwit erg effectief.


Increparius | Beatrice Malburg
Beatrice Malburg is a young designer from fresh Germany. Her designs have a touch of Iris van Herpen, where Beatrice had her internship. Dark, graphical and psychedelic, like a life-size kaleidoscope. This is her first video, after experimenting with illustrations and photography. Please fold more of your paper origami dresses!

Beatrice Malburg is uit de krochten van het Duitse rijk opgestaan om de wereld een beetje mooier te maken. Met haar exclusieve materiaal-experimenten creëert ze niet zelden een nieuwe stof, zoals de papieren origamijurkjes. Dit filmpje doet me denken aan een kaleidoscope voor volwassenen, donker, grafisch en psychedelisch. Dit is haar allereerste video, naast illustratie- en fotografieprojecten. Absoluut een naam die vaker gaat vallen!


AnOther Magazine | 'A Little Bit Eternal' with Rick Owens and Michele Lamy
I found a pearl among all other videos. This AnOther documentary portraits the strong individual Rick Owens and his wife Michele Lamy while setting up a furniture-line. Based on Owens' clothing design, the couches and chairs should become fantastic as well. Follow this lovely couple on their hunt for unique material, odd shapes and brilliant furniture making.

Dit filmpje is een pareltje in de miljoenen kubieke liters zeewater waardoor de wereld overstroomt. Deze AnOther documentaire volgt de individualistische Rick Owens en zijn vrouw Michele Lamy op hun ontdekkingstrip door de meubelmakerij. Als groot fan van de dark side ontwerpen van Owens konden de meubels gewoon niet slecht uitvallen. En dat deden ze ook niet. Bekijk dit koppel terwijl ze op zoek gaan naar uniek materiaal, aparte vormen en absoluut prachtige meubelstukken.

Look at this little chit-chat, wonderfully shot by Jak and Jil during the Milan's Men Fashion Week. This photo has just turned into a memory while the other Fashion Week is unpatiently waiting to start. The Copenhagen Fashion Week is here to win the last souls who didn't believe in Scandinavian fashion. Expect new Fall/Winter '12 collections from Stine Goya, Gestuz and Ecco for example. And at six o' clock today the finale from Bruuns Bazaar, trough snow and tough weather mind you. Next to the shows inside, you can find a fine arm party outside as well. The Locals reports from the streets of cold Copenhagen, with the latest looks and the best fur coats.

EXPO | Ilja Visser

Last weekend, I drove my mom's car trough a wood of vehicles on the highway to Amsterdam. With literally no experience at all in my left hand, and my boyfriend, the navigator, in my right, we ended up on the Westergas area. Well, besides one handsome man in a cafe, I haven't noticed anything linked at Fashionweek. So far the glamour of a blog. Nevertheless, I did spot the three-day-exposition of Ilja Visser Couture and Ready To Fish.

The Couture collection is inspired by Hyperborea, a mystical place from the Greek mythology. It is always spring in Hyperborea, without fear, care or war. A bit like the feeling you get from listening to John Lennon's songs. Other inspiration is from the climbing sport, with tough materials and camping mattresses. Best piece? The incredible wedges, probably impossible for a walk to the supermarket, but pretty as fuck.

Afgelopen weekend kreeg ik mijn geliefde vriendje zo ver om op de bijrijdersstoel plaats te nemen voor een ritje A1 naar Amsterdam. Mijn ontgroening op het Westergasterrein, wat overigens tien kilometer verder lopen bleek dan deze hooggehakte mevrouw dacht. De glitter en glamour van de Fashionweek bleek ver te zoeken, de enige link naar de wereld van mode, catwalks en shows was een eenzaam model dat triest in een cappuccino roerde. Ondanks dat was het een briljante dag, met een mooi plekje voor de drie-daagse expositie van Ilja Visser Couture en Ready To Fish.

De Ilja Visser Couture collectie heeft Hyperborea, een plek uit de Griekse mythologie, als inspiratiebron. In deze mystieke plek is het altijd lente en leeft iedereen constant in zonnig daglicht. Ziektes, oorlog en ouderdom zijn de wereld uit en iedereen fladdert rond. Een beetje het gevoel dat je krijgt na het luisteren van een overload John Lennon-liedjes. Na het zien van de prachtige 23cm wedges was ik om. Niet echt geschikt voor een retourtje supermarkt, maar wel de perfecte zit-schoenen! In de collectie zijn verder bergbeklim elementen verweven met couture. Een betere manier om mijn modderige Lowlands-matje in op te bergen is er volgens mij niet. De Ready To Fish-collectie was erg basic, met rustige tinten, veel bordeauxrood, (crème-)wit en zwart. Ook daar heb ik foto's van, maar de collectie was iets minder fotogeniek. Een filmpje maakt hopelijk alles goed! Bekende melodie? Volgens mij is dit een een-op-een kopie van Woodkid!
